Afghans and Popovers
This is what I've been up to lately....on the extremely strict Candida diet...losing weight, feeling better, hardly any fibromyalgia symtoms...finishing one afghan and starting another....cooking every meal I eat, which includes coconut flour popovers this morning...going to a scrapbooking mini album class with a friend yesterday...traveling up to Madison to see the grandkids today...off work tomorrow for Veteran's Day....gotta love those Bank holidays!

Books and Illustrations
When I visit the thrift store there is one thing I can not leave without purchasing....children's books with great illustrations. I'm a sucker for them.
Time and Measuring by Adelaide Holl and Seymour Reit. Pictures by Harry McNaught. Golden Press New York. Distributed by Encyclopaedia Britannica. 1970 Edition.
The Thinking Book by Adelaide Holl, Elementary School Teacher Worthington, Ohio. Pictures by Dagmar Wilson. Golden Press New York 1970 edition.
The Magic of Everyday Things by Seymour Reit. Pictures by June Goldsborough. Golden Press New York 1970 edition.
I hope my grandkids enjoy thumbing through them as much as I do.

A New Redo!
This photograph is in the newest issue of Artful Blogging magazine. As soon as I saw it I knew that it was time to redecorate my work cubicle around those colors.
Enlarge the picture and check out the adorable Kleenex box! Now check out the artist's blog. Recently I finished the last Kleenex in the box, but I was unwilling to get another (dull) box so I carefully refilled this one. I hope it lasts forever because it makes me happy....and a girl at work has got to find her happiness wherever she can!
It's always good to have something new to look at. No one should be forced to stare at dull cubicle walls day after day!

Remember When?
Remember when I used to sketch at work? I miss being able to do that. So today I made a fast drawing using Microsoft Paint. The program is pretty limited, but I think I like the results.
She has a bit of a split personality....but she has plastered a smile across both sides of her face.

It's been a while since I've posted anything,
Sorry.
Hope everyone is doing great.

Time for another Redo
It was time to redecorate my work window last week. I wanted something to make me feel springy and alive.
And when I came across this artwork in an issue of Artful Blogger I knew it was right for me....obviously there is another little birdie out there somewhere.
The golden/pink color scheme of this office corner is so fresh and new....I wish I had lots of these colors at home.
The number cards are two purchases from Ikea a few years ago.
But my favorite thing of all is the saying, "Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting

Spring is Here
This pink azalea has just about reached its peak. The white one hasn't gotten started yet. The Redbud tree is blooming. The forsythia (here in the South we call them yellowbells) are covered with blossoms. At this rate, I'm afraid everything will have bloomed and be gone by the time Easter arrives.
Spring always comes and goes too fast to suit me.

Saturday Random
A drive by view of some of the area tornado damage...lots of rubble and debris has been cleaned away, but it still looks really bad.
A friend and I went to the Birmingham Museum of Art today to see the "Look of Love" eye miniatures exhibit. No photography is allowed at special events, but I did stop by my favorite permanent room and take a couple of photos
See the reflection of my fingers?
My friend had never seen Railroad Park, so we stopped and people watched until a chilly breeze sent us on our way.

I know the calendar says Sunday, but I actually drew this yesterday...see, I do still doodle at work sometimes.
