There are - just - so - many. The sacrifices are almost incomprehensible.Sheilahttp://apostcardaday.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6560071949400915555.post-24472485504737800312009-06-06T15:58:30.380-05:002009-06-06T15:58:30.380-05:00Unforgettable.Unforgettable.Lisa at Greenbowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07743973292900758183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6560071949400915555.post-76919714782302936222009-06-06T15:12:34.070-05:002009-06-06T15:12:34.070-05:00Nice post - thanks.Nice post - thanks.Siobhánhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08010312651909916741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6560071949400915555.post-22427623954952902232009-06-06T14:28:53.982-05:002009-06-06T14:28:53.982-05:00Hi Stevie! I've not been to Normandy, but have been to Flanders Fields, Dachau prison (my dad took us on the European tour of World War II sites) - Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne in Belgium is one place I recall vividly.

Your photographs and quotes are superb. Have you ever seen the film, "The Gathering Storm" with Albert Finney and Vanessa Redgrave. It is excellent.

KatKat Mortensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877694888419628533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6560071949400915555.post-76962138606726050002009-06-06T14:02:12.159-05:002009-06-06T14:02:12.159-05:00Thanks so much for your post today. He was always interested in D Day, and he said it was awe inspiring to be there. Everything was torn up: trees, beach, everything. Can you imagine how scary that must have been to a young man? These men made such sacrifices for others. I don't think that's arrogance at all.Sparkyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09531515666554867421noreply@blogger.com
