Sunday Afternoon Serendipity

Even though I had a half gallon of rapidly melting Dutch Chocolate ice cream in my trunk, I had to pull over and take a few pictures. Every spring a small carnival sets up in this local park. Every spring I see it and think about taking some pictures. I never do....until today. Today I whirled my car around, jumped out and took a quick walk around, snapping as I walked.

Bright colors, pendants whipping in the wind and happy children running from ride to ride...brings back childhood memories of "Kiddieland," the local amusement park of my childhood. I remember going many times; riding the bumper cars, trying to find my way through the fun house, riding the Ferris wheel and screaming at whoever made our car rock while it was stopped at the top. It was all fun.

Here are a couple of pictures of "Kiddieland" in the 60's

I even went on a couple of dates to "Kiddieland" as a teenager, but by the time I had children it had fallen into disrepair.

In my opinion, childhood should be filled with a full measure of love, lots of magic, a occasional dose of cotton candy and regular allotments of serendipity!

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
