Turn Turn Turn

Autumn isn't here yet, but it is on the way!  I realized last week that one of the trees that fell had the prettiest yellow leaves each Fall. It's sad to think it won't be there this year.

  1. We just cut a few of our damaged peach trees in the field, we weren't ever very successful at getting the peaches before the raccoon anyway, but I will miss the spring blossoms!

  6. Too bad about the pretty-leaf tree...

Sigh, fall...a season we do not have here...and even if we did, we wouldn't have it this year because of this wicked drought.

    I love that song!

Your sketch of 9-11 is amazing.

  7. I love fall but am resisting the loss of leaves...we live in the country and when all the leaves fall we feel a little...NAKED!

  8. I'm a long way from autumn and loving spring... but the colours in your photo are truly beautiful.
Sorry about your tree... they take soooo long to grow and I can understand your feelings of loss.

  9. Trees usually do not change to fall colors here until late October..sometimes even later! We are having our first cold snap this weekend so that may edge them on.

PS: Your soup sounds really good! I like the 15 bean mixture and use that often :)

  12. Everything is beginning to change over up at the cottage.. quite dramatically along the roads. Too bad about your lost tree. I'm sure it will be missed each season.

  13. I wonder what it will be like in India. I will leave her October 23rd so I won't see much leaf action before I go.

  14. So sorry about your trees...in the long run I hope that the "natural pruning" turns out to be a good thing:) We lost lots of branches during the storm but fortunately no big trees...

    I always loved that song:)

  16. Autumn was always my favorite season in Indiana. Not as much to it in Florida, although the maples we used to have in our front yard would change color, which was nice. The song was quite a blast from the past and I loved the slideshow - the "sixty-ishness" of it just killed me! :) (the maples died and had to be cut down... sad!)

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
