Damocles Sword no longer hangs over my bedroom.

If you enlarge the photo you will see a guy working his way up into the leaves to tie a rope off near the top.

The tree is on the ground today. but a hawk and numerous squirrels don't have homes in the sky anymore.

  1. Hey... a dead tree is a dead tree and must come down, squirrel or no squirrel.

  2. I bet they find a new tree soon ... and you can sleep knowing you will wake uncrushed by a falling tree

  3. Though it's always a little bittersweet to see a tree cut down, it must feel good not to have the giant looming overhead.

  4. I am so glad it didn't come down on your house. That is one tall tree.

  5. Always a shame to see a tree cut down but it posed a danger so I guess it had to go .... the squirrels et al will find new homes.

  7. Sorry for the tree and all the animals that lost their home, but then again this tree posed a hazard to you, thus had to go.;))
Can you use it cut up as fire wood?

  9. Having had my van totaled in a winter storm a few years ago ( with me in it ), I can totally feel your relief! Apparently this huge city tree was nearly dead and split in half, falling on my van as I neared my office. Of course, I collected no reimbursement as the lawyers said it was an "act of God".

  10. Holy smokin' rockets, the angle of this photo really shows how precariously close it was over the house. I hope it didn't cost you a fortune to get it removed. If it did, I feel your pain as having had to do that before myself.

  11. You will certainly feel safer without the sword of Democles hanging over your head. Great to catch up.... and witness murders, wigs, leprechaun ears etc ..... but Stevie, where are your sketches???
