Interior Decorator Position Available

Work space in dire need of total overhaul on a very limited budget. Looking for just the right person.  Must love your work and be willing to design on a dime....literally!

While I'm busy interviewing potential designers and considering their space planning and furniture layouts...here's a look at what I've tried to do with the space:

In lieu of a window, I've tried to bring some outdoors inside.....I'll need more if I'm going to succeed.

  1. Steph, a study of that photo begs the question, "Just what is it you do?" :-) A stapler, cellotape, desk calendar, tissues and an adding machine...?

  2. I agree with Dave, that was my first thought too, what do you do?
Love the "view" you created for yourself though.;)
    Have a lovely Friday,
    xoxo

  3. I think you are on the right track. If I had to look at that cube all day I would be putting up a mural too. That adding machine looks ancient. Hang in there. The weekend is upon you.

  4. You have to have a VIEW of some sort! You have created one! Cubicles...they are DEATH to the soul if you don't have a dash of color in there somewhere!

  5. You need a sweet little plant on your desk. There are tons of gorgeous choices at the grocery these days.

  6. I think you need one big 16x20 photo of a view out a window.... Maybe if you beg some nice blogger will send you one for me, but not me because I can't print anything that large... Come on, Bloggers... someone help the girl out!

  7. I like what you've done with the place! I think you are on the right track, bringing the outside in any way you can! How about a plant that requires little sunlight. A cute picture of all the grankids. I did notice your drawing on you date book.
    Have a great day!

  9. You need to get/make an actual window frame .. for or six panes of 'glass' framed by frames .. and into each can go a 'view' .. you can draw it or you can photo it ... and if you want you can add curtains/shades or roll ups .. a family friend whose kitchen had no windows put one on the wall next to the sink and every so often she would change the 'view' (her's was an actual old window frame .. of course she had a whole wall, not just the back of another person's cubicle)

  11. No windows would be difficult. The right lighting might allow for a plant or two. And I like Daryl's idea. This inquiring mind also wants to know what you do.

  13. I can't help you there. I've got cubicle space too so I took an old calendar with just the tops picture part full of Afternoon Tea pictures... lot of teapots filled with tea, tiers of scones, savories and treats and lovely table settings. I've got all 12 up there and I still love it after 3 years because I instantly and mentally slow down. Afternoon Tea can't be rushed, its a long meal so to speak so when things get crazy busy at work, I just look up!
    Blessings,
    Janeen

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
