Pay It Foward

A few days ago Pat from Mille Fiori Favoriti presented me with this award and also challenged me to list six random things about myself. I am afraid I have already divulged most of my deep dark secrets or quirky facts, but I will give it a try.

  1. I was suspended from school when I was in High School for cheating. A boy I liked (don't they always get us in trouble) and I had the same history teacher but at different times. My class was first. On one particular test day, I left class and wrote down all the questions and answers I could remember and gave it to him to study...he used it as a cheat sheet. And got caught of course. The teacher recognized the handwriting and the guilty party (Cathy Early) was called down to the guidance counselor's office. When accused of the crime she vehemently denied ever writing anything for him. Finally my friend confessed that it wasn't Cathy, but rather me who had written the paper in question. Why were they so easily confused about who had written the cheat sheet....since I liked Cathy's style of handwriting, I had spent the whole year practicing writing like her....don't you think this makes me a successful forger?
  2. I had a crush on Tarzan when I was young. Johnny Weissmuller was my favorite Tarzan. Although I put a lot of practice into it my Tarzan yell, it was never as good as Carol Burnett's.
  3. I would like to have a collection of doll heads. They would make me smile and remember how mean I was to my little sister. Dolls made in the 50s and 60s were attached to their bodies by rubber bands. It freaked my sister out for me to pull their heads up and expose their neckbands....so I loved to scare her this way.
  4. I was jealous of my sister because I thought she was the pretty one....her hair is dark and her eyes are brown to my blue eyes and dirty blonde/brown hair. Maybe this is why I liked to be mean to her....hmmmmm.
  5. I used to have a recurring dream all the time in which I fell down on the steps of our church and couldn't get up. Does this make me the original "I've fallen and can't get up" lady?
  6. My online nickname is the nick that my family used to call me when I was 3 or 4.
Pat also awarded all of her readers with the You Make Me Smile Award. I want to say that all of my readers make me smile also. So I'm giving you this award too!

  1. Those were fun!!!

I used to have a recurring dream that I walked into church and looked down and saw that I forgot to wear any shoes...yep barefoot. Wonder what that means?

Congrats on your well deserved award! :)

  3. Congrats on the award, it is pretty. Those were interesting things about yourself! I've had some very vivid dreams about church. I guess there are so many relationships and emotions there, things deep in our subconcious. Don't know... but it sounds good!

  4. Hey Steviewren!

    Glad you enjoyed your awards!

Those were interesting facts about you! I had the same complex about my older sister -- she is the pretty one!

How long were you suspeneded and did that dumb boy ever apologize?

I loved to watch Tarzan too! I always wondered why Jane didn't let the boy have a real name though...lol!

    Have a great weekend!

  5. This was great fun, Steviewren! I used to watch the Johnny Weismuller Tarzan after school - great stuff (and Superman, of course). You're right, Carol Burnett really nailed that Tarzan-yell. It was better than the original. I wonder if they'll ever do another remake of Tarzan? Who would be a good one now do you think?

I'm petrified of dolls, so your collection would freak me out - especially with just the heads. I had a Chatty Cathy doll when I was 3, I believe. I decided she needed a good hair-washing one day. Let's just say she wouldn't have been out of place a CBGB's in New York when I was done with her!

    Fun post!

  7. Willow, perhaps it goes back to Moses and the burning bush. He was advised to take off his shoes for he was on holy ground.

Stevie: LOL about the dolls heads.

  8. Willow, I looked down in Sunday School one morning to see that I had on two different shoes....and I wasn't a kid when I did that! I did it again in January of this year. I wore a black and brown shoe to work...OMG!

Bush Babe, I've never been able to decide if my dreams are in color or not...color doesn't seem a part of them. Lucky you!

Rosezilla, I agree all of my dreams come out of my relationship issues.

Hi Pat I'm not so jealous anymore now that people think I am younger than her...which I am not! I was only suspended for a day. I thought my mother would kill me and to my everlasting surprise she wasn't...I still don't think that was my real mother who came to the school that day!

Poetikat, Christian Bale might make a good Tarzan....hmmmm, have you ever read any of Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan novels? Tarzan was actually very intelligent and had 2 sides to him...civilized and wild. You and my sis might make good friends-she still doesn't like those kind of dolls! We both received a Chatty Cathy one Christmas. Wish I still had mine. I never had the courage to cut or wash my dolls hair. Your's sounds cute!

Debby, I was usually a nice complaint child so the times when I was mean and feisty kind of surprise me. Now my sister, she was the one who would stand up to mother and talk back to her.

  10. I was laughing at some of those! Hmmmm.....a career as a successful forger might have netted you millions!

I remember those originals "I've fallen and I can't get up" commercials....who knew what a hoot they would become, and so famous....your dream is interesting, I wonder if you took a tumble or stumble on the church steps when you were young, but can't remember?
