Not Yet, Soon I Hope

Like the title says, my computer isn't fixed yet. Maybe soon. We had to order a new operating system. The old one was unrecoverable.

I watched a couple of good movies this weekend that I thought I would recommend to you movie aficionados.

Bread and Tulips is an Italian film about a middle aged woman's search for her own identity. Set in Venice, this is a sweet romantic film and well worth having to read the subtitles.

Swept from the Sea featuring the beautiful Rachel Weisz and Kathy Bates, is the story of rejection and love set amid the startlingly beautiful English countryside of Cornwall.

Give both a try. I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

  1. These sound completely like my kind of movies; I will for sure give them a try.;) In Denmark we are very much used to subtitles, so that should not be a problem.;) I additionally very much like Rachel Weisz.

I hope you did not loose any data when your operating system went down. Computer troubles are the worst since we depend on them so much.
I am looking forward to your soon return.;)

  2. Putting them on Husband's NetFlix queue... hope you are back soon!

  3. Thanks for the update and the movies. I may have to join Net Flix.

  4. ha ha this is like one of those advertisements where you wait expectantly for something to arrive, and waiting becomes part of the fun. seen the second movie, it was good, we saw 'boy in the stiped pyjamas' hard to watch, but good.

  5. Can't wait to see what all you have been doing artistically while not being able to be on the computer. Sure miss your posts.

  6. I have not heard of either movie...I will have to check them out. Thanks for the review and recommendations!

Hope your PC is on the mend sooon!

  7. I miss you. I will be happy when your computer gets fixed. The movies sound good. Take care, my friend.

  8. I've seen both movies, end enjoyed them both very much! Sorry you are still having computer problems!!!

  9. Thanks for the movie recommendations~I'll have to check those out sometime. Although it may not be this month. We'll be packing to move!
I'm sorry about your computer. That is sooooo frustrating! Mine crashed last fall due to viruses and I lost so much in the restoration. I hope you enjoy the freshness of your new system when you get it back though. Always have to look on the bright side, right?:)

  10. Ah, Stevie! I have seen - in fact own "Bread and Tulips" and recall it as being a sweet little film.

"Swept From the Sea" intrigues me since Cornwall is one of my favourite places in the world. The sea is actually the most vibrant aquamarine and the trees are palms and other tropical plants. Add to that the fact that it is an artist's haven and well, I wish I were back there right now. Will have to find this one and check it out. I do enjoy Rachel Weisz and Kathy Bates.

Hope your computer woes are in hand.

  11. Hi Stevie!

I just came back from a week long, computer free, trip to Colorado to visit my son DIL and grandson..It was wonderful! I forgot how much energy taking care of a baby requires....but I had so much fun!

I hope you get your computer fixed soon, but enjoy the break as best you can. I saw Bread and Tulips awhile ago and loved it ...I'll see if I can rent the other movie as it sounds liike one I'd like a lot.

  12. So sorry about your computer reminds me that I have to back up my photos!...hope you didn't lose any...

I loved Bread and made me want to run away to Italy:) and I will definitly netflix Swept From the Sea...although I already have at least 50 movies on my list I'm afraid...

  13. i've missed you and reading your blog! fingers crossed that your computer will be on the mend soon!!

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
