What do Birmingham, AL and Paris, France have in Common?

What do these two cities have in common you asked? One wonderfully inquisitive and talented photographer named Virginia. Her hometown blog is Birmingham, Alabama Daily Photo.

Currently she is on holiday in Paris along with her daughter and grandchildren. You can check out her Parisian blog here at Paris Through My Lens.

While browsing her Paris blog Saturday, I was compelled to run grab my sketch pad. I had to try my hand at drawing her cute grandchildren.

Well I couldn't be more flattered. Thanks for the plug and the sweet sketch of Eva and Davis. It has been fun seeing Paris through their eyes. We have had to tailor our activities but we've seen a lot of things we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Stay tuned for more adventures!!

Who Said It First?

The phrase "little birdie told me so" may find it's origins in this Bible verse. "Do not revile the king even in your thoughts, or curse the rich in your bedroom, because a bird of the air may carry your words, and a bird on the wing may report what you say" (Ecclesiastes 10:20). The earliest form of the saying was included in John Heywood's collection of proverbs (1546). In 1583, Brian Melbancke wrote in 'Philotimus'" 'I had a little bird, that brought me newes of it.' In 1711, in 'Letter to Stella,' Jonathan Swift came close to the current version: 'I heard a little bird say so.'
