I'd like to spend more summer Saturday mornings here. Unfortunately, I'm not one to jump up and dash out of the house early on the weekends. Today was the exception. I happily wandered down the crowded aisles....fruits, flowers, people and vegetables...everything needed for a fun morning.
I came home with tomatoes for bacon and 'mater sandwiches, a bundle of sunflowers and a jar of squash and zucchini pepper relish.
I know what you mean about not getting out early to the market. I get up early but find it difficult to get to the market but when I see these lovely photos I feel sad that I don't make myself go there. Such yummy fruit and beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteI AM GREEN WITH ENVY. I love, love, love Pepper Place!! Man, have nnot been there in over 4 years. Boohoo!
ReplyDeleteDid you go alone?
Isn't it the most refreshing, alive place to be? And, pass a sandwich, please!
I love this place. Nice pics. Looks like you had a much nicer day than we did up here today!
ReplyDeleteNice pics Stevie! Glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm done looking at veggies for fun! HA!
What a nice market! I love that picture where it looks like the wine colored flowers are loaded up in the front seat of that white pickup truck! :)
ReplyDeleteI love farmer's markets and all the wonderful fresh produce and pretty fresh cut flowers they sell. I saw on the Pepper Place web site that artists sell items too?
ReplyDeleteoh how I miss Pepper Place - I lived on southside so this was one of my very favorites for saturday morning. the music playing, the bread from continental...and all of the fresh flowers. And the goat cheese man too.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the morning thing.
ReplyDeleteBut sometimes when we get up and just do it we feel better.
We have a farmers market here in town, I love to go and just pretend I am in Europe. Funny thing is when I bring home the green stuff I usually and a dork and dont get to it in time and it rots. Gotta stop that.

ReplyDeleteWe have farmer's markets here. Nothing so grand as Pepper Place. But still a good place to get the makings for bacon and 'mater samiches. Thanks. I know what we're having for supper!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Stevie. I love a weekend market!
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a great market! Put me down for tagging along next weekend! I will get up early for that experience!
ReplyDeleteWhat an explosion of colour! I can imagine how juicy those BLT's would be with fresh tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteI was so beat after packing/helping move stuff/watching him paint/unpacking that I didnt go to the Greenmarket this week and now I am very sorry ... lovely pix!
ReplyDeleteWhen we're in town Pepper Place is a favorite haunt for the professor and me! Wish I could've joined you.
