Warning! I'm about to brag shamelessly.
I think I'm like every grandparent on earth when I say that my grandchildren are talented geniuses.
Case in point....I'm thrilled that all of the children that are old enough to hold pen or pencil are both artistic and creative.

This story isn't finished yet.
Indulge me by agreeing. These kids are special...especially since they're my grandchildren!
I've told the girls crazy made up stories since they were small. Stories about walking household appliances and ducks and talking sewing machines. For a long time now most of the stories have centered around the adventures of a little red haired girl who loves to hunt for dinosaur bones. Whenever I am with them I have to tell 2 or 3 stories each night. None are particularly good, but they satisfy the girls. I have long tried to get them to tell me a story when I tired of telling them. Now, I am thrilled to find that they have turned into imaginative storytellers themselves. In fact, some of their stories have been so long I've had to impose word limits or they would never end....."okay, it's getting late...you have 30 more words....think of an ending!"
Awww...LOVE it! Now THAT is inspiring!! Hope you're doing well. Thinking of you! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteOf course your Grands are brilliant. They are also lucky to have a loving Grandma.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lisa...they are lucky to have you! And I'm really impressed with the hair she drew with the braids!
ReplyDeleteI think that's brilliant myself. I love the writing stories - I can remember doing that too. I bet she will be an author one day.
ReplyDelete"Then she stepped on a creaky board". I love that. My daughter was quite the story teller at that age, too. I miss it.
ReplyDeleteHow can one nothing but agree with you! They are talented. I love seeing pictures that children draw as they are so unpretentious and honest.
ReplyDeleteYou have every right to be proud.;)))
I MOST CERTAINLY agree! What precious memories you are making with your sweet grand babies too! I treasure my mom and the time spent with my kiddos SO VERY MUCH!
ReplyDeleteTheir drawings are WONDERFUL!
Stevie...I love that you are working with them and teaching them to make use of the gifts they inherited from Granma! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Grands have good eyes ...
ReplyDeleteI love E's book, I did the same when I was her age, tho I didnt write so much as draw pix and put captions on them ..
Hi Steph,
ReplyDeleteWow! I didn't know if you can understand turkish language, lol:) But how could you read the small fonts on the photo? Yep, the book I've been reading is Angela'nin Külleri, or Angela's Ashes by F McCourt. Beautiful blue 'sharp' eyes that you've got!
As for talented kids, I am not surprised when I think of you. DNA talks:)
Kisses & big hugs for your grandchildren~
They are very special and talented little girls! Delightful!
ReplyDeleteThat second one screams "Picasso" to me. It's in the genes, baby!
ReplyDeleteKat
Well, of course I agree! It's so obvious...:) I enjoyed the drawings, but I particularly enjoyed the story. Tell her I want to know what happens next. My great-aunt had a big old sea-chest that we were not allowed anywhere near, so of course we had all kinds of speculations about what was in there! Now I can finally find out.
ReplyDeleteI loved these!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet Stevie! I definitely see talent...as good as Piccaso in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteConsider yourself duly indulged. They've certainly inherited your creative genes. :)
ReplyDeleteTheir art and writing are SO fun!! They do this all the time, so that now I have binders full of their work.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gramma, for all the collaboration and encouragement!
My kids DO NOT draw like that! I agree 1000 percent! They have major talent:) What a FANTASTIC Gramma you are!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! They got your genes alright....
ReplyDeleteJust precious! Those are the MOST darling, smartest, artistic grandchildren.... evah! Great memories you're all making, I love it!
ReplyDeleteTalented indeed! No need to apologize for bragging if it is so obviously true:) You are a great grandmother for encouraging all this creativity!
