It's Totaled But I'm Not

You never know when you leave the house in the morning what the day might bring. About half way to work I found myself hanging suspended by my seat belt in this.

I tested all my appendages. Nothing broken. And though the person who caused this by pulling into my lane and forcing me off the road drove on as if nothing were wrong, many other Good Samaritans stopped to help.

Because the seat belt was so tight and cutting into my arm, I took a chance and released it. Once I was on the roof/ground I wiggled out this window.

I was checked out at the hospital and warned that I should expect to be really sore tomorrow, which will be today by the time you read this. I'm pretty black and blue already.

There were angels watching over me today and I know it well.

  1. OH, GOODNESS I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE OKAY!!! That is so scary. Take some pain medication (if that's okay) and ice it, then use a heating pad. It'll help.

    So glad you're safe! <3

  7. I had a bad taxi accident, not upside down but bad, watch out for whiplash. Advil, lots of Advil, ice and a chiropractor will help. Can't believe the other driver just took off. We have a few words for them in NYC that I can't put here, too many ***'s.

  16. Oh my word! Thank goodness you're ok, Stevie. Take it very slow. You're going to feel delicate for a while.

  17. OH MY GOD! Steviewren! I'm speechless! How terrible for you....I'm sooooooooo glad you are okay....that's a miracle. PLEASE have yourself thoroughly checked out to make sure you are indeed 'all's well'.

As for the person who did this, I am dumbfounded that they just drove on. Advertise for witnesses...someone may have seen their license plate. That person has no conciense and should be caught and prosecuted!

  18. Finally catching up on some blogs I love to read and was horrified to find this!...Horrified at what you went through but very happy that you weren't badly injured!...and then you escaped with your camera in hand! Hope you are not too achy today...

Isn't it against the law to leave the scene of an accident?...Hope those felons get caught...

  21. I was going to come over and catch up on all your lovely posts... so shocked to see this! Man, how scary. Be really good to yourself while you recover - rest a lot and eat lots of ice cream - oh, I guess that is supposed to be an ice pack, but hey, whatever works, right? Seriously, I am so thankful to God that you are alright. And I assume you didn't have any grandkids in the car, which is an added blessing.

  22. I'm gonna voice what Georgie so adequately said above, "OH, MY GOODNESS I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE OKAY!!!" Wow, girlfriend. Those are some scary photos!

I'm so glad the seatbelts worked and you were spared being badly hurt. Bless your heart. Do you still hear the crash in your head? The one time I was rear ended, I 'heard' the crash for days afterwards and felt like I'd been in a bad argument. It really upset me but it took days to 'hit'.

Well, you're in our prayers. Be well my friend and take the time to relax for awhile.

  23. Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I feel amazing well tonight. I'm only sore if you touch where the seat belt was touching and where my thighs must have banged against the steering wheel. I have a criss-cross of very pretty bruises on my front side and my neck is sore...but I have issues with my neck anyway so it is nothing new.

Sparky, I can't remember the sound hardly at all. I remember rolling and flipping and wondering what would happen to me, but that's all.

  28. STEVIE! Oh my gosh! How scary. Also, you and BB - a lot alike! The camera must be hanging from your hand at all times. How do you both remember to take pictures of EVERYTHING?

  39. Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks!

    Mike
