Must see movies that I give 4 and 5 stars for being either heartwarming, thought provoking or just plain entertaining.
I agree as I've seen many on your list! Fun new suggestions too - thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe only two on your list that I can recall seeing are "Arranged" and "Her Majesty" - both were delightful. I'll have to work my way through the rest of the list. I do think I saw "Manon of the Spring" many years ago so will have to see it again.
ReplyDeleteOh this list makes me look forward to cozy winter movie nights. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteoh, I see some favorites and some new!! great recommendations.
ReplyDeletethanks!
Wonderful! Except for "Big Night", I have not seen one single one of these. And they all seem to be "my kind" of movies as well.;)

At first glance I thought this post was about fashion. The woman in the first picture looks like she could of stepped out of an Anthropologie catalog. I am going to have to watch a few of these. Winter is coming which means bad, bad weather! Must be prepared with lots of good movies!

ReplyDeleteThank you for these. I thought of Protege immediately as I read down the list.. this is so her! :)
ReplyDeleteOoooo, I am writing these down! LOVE to watch movies recommended by others!
ReplyDeleteI've seen most of these, but Avenue Montaigne and The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas are going on my Netflix queue right now! Thanks, Stevie.
ReplyDeleteCranford is so wonderful...I could watch Judi Dench read the phone book, but with this delightful production, I don't have to!
ReplyDeleteWilliam and Mary looks very good. I'll have to check that out.
Thank you for the list.
I've seen a few of these and enjoyed them, but I really appreciate your list as my Netflix queue was getting low! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've missed some of these and they look great!..Off to Netflix to remedy that:-)
ReplyDeleteI know you'll forgive me steviewren when I call attention to your typo, "The Boy in STRIPPED Pajamas" That's an entirely different sort of film!
ReplyDeleteLove Jean de Florette/Manon des Sources, Mostly Martha, Bread and Tulips and Enchanted April. I'll have to look out for the others.
Funny, I just bought "First Night" to give to my sister and brother-in-law over Thanksgiving. They are in the process of opening a butcher shop in the Berkshires and this particular movie seemed inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your list, I have a feeling my gift list for Christmas will look a lot like it now.
Pleasure stumbling upon your blog.
Cheers!
I found your blog today and read your list of must see movies. I just finished watching Enchanted April; the movie was absolutely beautiful.
