Look!

It really did snow in Alabama last night.

out my back door

my view in front of the house

the trees are so pretty

my long lasting begonias are so dead

Those of you who live in areas where heavy snows are normal may laugh at our little snow, but since it doesn't snow here very often we have to celebrate it all.

  1. I agree about laughing at a little snow. We hardly EVER get snow in San Francisco, but sometimes we get it on top of some of the local mountains. Maybe even next week! Happy PF!

  2. Mary, I am in Daly City - I commented somewhere that it would be total pandemonium if it snowed in our area. Cars would be skittering down the hillsides and traffic would be a real nightmare!

  3. I was coming to see you because of PFF, but this is a much better spot to comment. You have more snow than I do. I live in Winnipeg. North of North Dakota/Minnesota... That is just wrong!!! lol

  5. Wonderful snow no matter how much you get. It looks like fun. You got enough to get you into the Christmas spirit.

  6. Sorry guys the snow is already melting. There is nothing left except some in the shady spots. This is Alabama after all!

  7. Wow, snow in Alabama! It did look pretty, while it lasted! We are expecting a few inches tonight. They did say it was coming from the south, I did not know that meant the deep south! At least you don't have to shovel!

  11. Oh wow, you got a good dusting. My mom said their dusting was just patchy... we, of course, had none.

  12. I can't believe you had snow in Alabama! We don't get much snow in this part of the UK either - although it did snow for a day in February! I am totally envious. Snow makes everything look so pretty and my garden sure does need some help at the moment ...

  13. Wow, such a beautiful gift to wake up too! I bet it looks just lovely! Did you make some coffee and just look out the windows all morning? You lucky gal... by the way I was laughing at your comments about the plants. HA HA

  14. About the begonias...you won't believe this, but they didn't die! No joke. The snow melted on them by 11:30 and I took another picture. The edges of the leaves look a little worse for the weather but that's it. Unbelievable but true.

  16. Stevie, your snow is so pretty. I think they may have got some in Atlanta, but I'm back in SC for now. It's chilly, but no snow in the forecast. Avery is sick and can't be in her Christmas program at church tomorrow. I'm staying home too because that's all the service will be and I would miss seeing my baby girl. Snow is so pretty. I know, the up north girls are saying, 'Right?' Well, we don't get to see it much here in the south, so we think it's beautiful!!

  17. Oh, how wonderful! I love the snow in December, that is the month when I want it the most! We did not even have snow here yet.;) In fact, it has been the warmest winter onset ever, November even failed to have frost.
Enjoy it and I think that the snow that you show here is the best; enough to enjoy but not too much to cause trouble:;)

  18. It's a lovely snow, Steviewren! I wish we would get some:) I love the snow! It's been super cold all week though, so at least it feels like winter.

  19. No real snow here yet. Not a flake of it in November and only trace amounts since but it's cold. Our local pond has frozen over in the last couple of days. I do have to admit that a fresh snowfall is pretty and if you're excited to get some, you're welcome to ours. :) Truly, lovely photos.
