My Grown-Up Toys

I love Toy Story movies and toys.
I have a collection of Toy Story characters.
I like the idea that toys come alive when their humans aren't around.
I love sweet, down-to-earth, reliable Woody.
I love to pull his string and hear him say, "there's a snake in my boot!"
I think Tom Hanks was the perfect choice to play Woody. He seems to embody the same characteristics.
I like Buzz Lightyear's belief that his reality is really real.
Tim Allen was the right choice to play Buzz's blustery part.
I like, no love, sweet Rex, the tyrannosaurus played with perfect angst and trembling by Wallace Shawn.
I like Hamm the Piggy Bank (John Ratzenberger) and Mr Potato Head (Don Rickles).
I love it when Mrs Potato Head (Estelle Harris) packs extra shoes and angry eyes for Mr Potato Head.
I like it when Woody goes limp over Bo Peep (Annie Potts) attentions.
I like it when the Sarge and the Bucket O'Soldiers go on reconnaissance missions.
I like it that Andy puts his name on all of his toys.

Let's face it....I love everything about Toy Story and plan to go see the new movie soon!

  1. i've heard great things about it. i want to see it too.

i can remember when my nephews were so in love with buzz and woody. i wonder if they are old enough now to remember those days fondly...or think they're too cool to go.

  2. I have seen one of those movies. They are great characters.

  3. Cara took me to see this movie, and the latest movie is the very nicest one so far (and I truly enjoyed the others...) Run, Stevie. Don't walk. It's worth it!

  4. I have not seen it but I have heard it is great! Hope you get to see it this weekend! :-)

  5. Isn't it nice to have grandchildren to take to these movies that we so desparately want to see:) I'm hoping that 5 and 3 arn't too young to take...

  6. I also loved the original Toy Story! I wish my grandson were old enough to go to the movies...just a few more years!:)

  7. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Toy Story! Imagine HOW PLEASED I was when Sam wanted his birthday theme to be...YEP! TOY STORY!

Love the movie, love the toys...and it is EVERYWHERE! Just bought Sam a pair of adorable little Buzz flip flops for the beach!!

    I am a SUCKER with a capital "S!"

  8. I did love the first Toy Story. The second was less memorable. I hear this one is supposed to be great. Let us know, willya? :)

  9. You know it is funny, the othre day as we were watching small clips on youtube with the Irishman I stumbled upon an old Czech movie from the 40s, called the Christmas Gift. My mom used to watch it as a child and I recall my grandfather showing it to us o a projector without a sound.
It was my moms favorite and became my favorite; all about a little girl getting a new toys for Christmas and forgetting abut her old toys. Then as son as she falls asleep , they all come alive.;))
I can not even in words describe the feeling of rediscovering this old movie after several decades...
    Have a great weekend,

  10. it must be the inner child in you.i am a great fan of walt disney movies and just don't know what we would've done without them, all pure joy.
