sultry and sweltering
I am always so impressed with your poetic abilities; this is superb, I could feel the passion and the heat behind the words.;))Have a great day (and stay cool;))xo
ooo...i could feel the heat coming off your words. it has been beastly hot here...nice visuals...great magpie!
I read this a few times before appreciating it, but I do like it. I'd like to know where this came from, however, how you developed its meaning and the inspiration..
Beautiful mental images! Even if I am sitting and waiting for September too... :)
Hot poem! I like it!
Ohhhhh ... so wonderfully written. I can feel each and every word!
We had some rain last night so it is blissfully cool today.Oh, I very much liked your Magpie and I do know the feeling . . waiting for September.
Friends here in Naples tell me how HOT it is, but I do not notice it so much. I do not work up on roofs like they do--grin!The heat wave extinguishes itself here in October--and then we get a new cannister which is not so rusty as the one in your photo.PEA (whew) CE!
I was sweating so much this weekend, the skin above my upper lip tasted like salt on the glass of a margarita, too! Oh come, September! (or better yet, October!)
Wow, I need a cold drink after that! Good job!
Just up sails and come to Mooloolaba in SE Queensland. Days about 22C... um, times 5, divide by 9 plus 32. Ummmm... near enough to 71? Nights about 8, do your own math. One light comforter needed only. Felt the heat and the water in your emotive piece. Luverly!
Great piece, love the whole flow, the heat and sweat and the waiting on September....bravo..bkm
I love it...the heat radiates from your poem. Awesome Magpie! Many of us are waiting for September! Glad you got to see Toy Story! :-)
A virtual margarita! Cooling - beautiful piece!
Amen sister. I could salt a margarita glass myself.
There is something about a margarita that will cool me off right away...or make me not care about the heat:)
hello birdie!....u hav a cute blog here!....i m totally givin u a follow!...grt stuff:)
I can picture each phrase; well done! Speaking of margaritas .. they cost $1.75 each at a Mexican restaurant that we ate at yesterday. That's less expensive than a soft drink!

I love your stories and I think I've missed a few.I could feel the perspiration glistening on my upper lip and on my temples from reading this. Really effective writing, Stevie!
I'm ready for fall, too! Summer has always been my least favorite. It's been especially hot and humid this year! ugh.
I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
