One Ringy Dingy

I received a phone call from my daughter-in-law yesterday. Upon answering, her first words to me were: "I'm standing here looking at a Mondrian." Aw, that's mean!

She was at MoMa. I was on my way to run errands.

My reply, "Please do not tell me if you see any Modigliani pieces."

And then I went about my mundane Saturday.

  1. Hi Stevie ~ Is is still raining in Alabama? It's just started here in SE Gawga (Sunday PM).
I loved that skit with Lily Tomblin. She's a laugh riot and a half!
May I please ask, what's a Mondrian? I Googled it and I'm still confused. Sorry to be so dense. Pamela ♥ ∞

  3. Ohhhh! Thank you! I do need to work on my artist identifications. :^P
BTW, I heard yesterday that artist Andrew Wyeth (spelling?) passed away a couple of days ago. I reviewed his work on-line, and he was really good! Hubby said anyone who can work in watercolor is truly gifted. The guy was really talented. :o) ♥ ∞

  4. Pamela, Wyeth was gifted, but for all of his acclaim, I like his father's work better. Check out NC Wyeth. He was known for his illustrations of books like Treasure Island, Kidnapped, Robin Hood, The Last of the Mohicans etc.

  6. Oliag, just don't call me and tell me that you've seen any Modigliani paintings and I won't be too jealous.

  10. I have never heard of MOMA, I had to google it. Looks like quite a unique store. I would love to see a view like that from any window in my house. Rhode Island does not have any mountain views! A few large hills!

  12. Don't you just hate it when someone calls you from a fabulous place??? I was once picking out tile for a client and received a call on my cell from a friend who said..."I've just crossed over the bridge on the Isle of Skye and need you to tell me the hotel you love and quick because our turn is coming up". Skye is one of my favourite places and here I was all covered in tile dust listening to him travel the roads there. Sigh.

Oh, and I loved Lily!! Thanks!

  13. I am sorry it wasn't you at MoMA, but I think it's wonderful that your daughter just had to share that amazing moment with YOU. And that she knew you were the one who would appreciate what she was seeing at that moment.

One of these days, you'll get to go!
