The Small Screen

I live alone. The television is my white noise. It is my company. It keeps me from talking to myself. It entertains me. I control the channel changer.

I've found a few new shows I like. White Collar on USA. Castle on ABC. Glee. V.

I used to read a lot, but menopause fried my concentration. How about you? What do you watch? How do you entertain yourself?

  1. I love how you with few sentences often tun into a very poignant subject, you do it every time.;)
Perhaps it is because I understand completely what you mean; I love my TV.;) It makes the house less empty and makes me feel connected to the world.;)
I used to watch a lot of American shows, but now I watch the British shows now on BBC. Such as "Doctor Who", "Ashes to Ashes", "Life on Mars", "Primeval" and "Torchwood". Not sure you are familiar with any of these though.;)
    Have a great Monday,
    xo

  2. I read blogs. I draw and paint a little. During summer I putter in the garden. I read at night just before dozing off. Short spurts.

  4. I like the show White Color too. I also like Monk but this is his last season.

I know what you mean about the tv being the background noise. When the kids are all out(which is not often) or at night while I'm scrapping, I have it on or my ipod. Need something.

  5. as i've aged i've liked quiet or soft music in my art room more and more. hubbie tends to play the tv loudly and then i need to put my ipod on in the art room to escape the noise. if hubbie is gone on a business trip i have the tv on for company. funny how that makes me feel less alone. i watch way too much tv -- grey's anatomy, private practice, house, survivor, amazing race, brothers and sisters. new to my list are castle and glee. love them both!!

  9. Funny, your comment remark is one of the shows I watch, reruns, late at night..."Frasier". My all time favorite show is "Top Chef"...I have a HUGE crush on Tom Colicchio. And I'm convinced I should have been a chef. :)

  10. I read a page at a time of a few books I've got going...I glance at a few blogs...read Real Simple magazine bit by bit.

IF I were watching tv, I'd love to see a Twilight Zone Marathon, some good Hitchcock movies, and maybe The Cosby Show! :-)

  11. Being a forensic nurse, you'd think I'd tire of those forensic shows and nursing things...but I watch CSI Miami, Bones, the Closer...and Grays Anatomy and Hawthorne. I love Dancing with the Stars. I like many of the Public Television presentations and Ellen Degeneres and late night with Dave Garroway and Craig Ferguson!

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
