Have Some Tea?

Before I show you more of my favorite things (is that The Sound of Music I hear playing on the stereo) I must remember my manners and offer you some refreshments. Let's go out onto the deck.

Sit down over there. I'll sit right here. Can you see the oak leaf hydrangeas out back. They are just beginning to bloom.

Flowers on the table always make my day brighter. How about you?

Do you take milk and sugar with your tea?

The green cup I'm using is one of my favorites. It sat on my grandmother's mantel beside her Dresden figurines.

Have a cookie? Mmmm, shortbreads.

Quick, invite all your friends. I have more than enough. Let's make it a party!

  1. You know, I never really liked shortbreads but I think they are starting to grow on me. I wish I could have been at your house to join in on that lovely tea party and inviting weather.

  3. Oh, that made me feel better already! Lovely tea with Steviewren. Cheery background music. Friendly chat. And how did you know I love shortbreads? Perfect. Sigh.

  5. What wonderful pictures of a lovely table setting for tea. Looks divine. I would love it. I'll have the blackest tea please with a bit of sugar and a dollop of milk. Thank you!

I'm looking forward to the following posts now that you've enticed us to stay for awhile....

BTW, never heard of it as shortbread"s" before. We always used the singular, like 'sheep,' and so on.

  8. Everything is laid out so dainty and lovely; I'm so glad to stop by and have a cup with you.

A friend of mine makes shortbread cookies with real lavender, I have made them too; they are quite good.

It makes tea more special to drink it out of interesting cups that have a story behind them.

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
