So, I have nothing to blog tonight except my headache. And now that I've done that...I'll leave you with a sketch I did yesterday during lunch. I altered it a little in Photoshop. Here are a couple of the results.
the original sketch; pen and colored pencils
(Disclaimer) Her hand is a weird size, but in the photo I used the model's
hand was sort of big as well. I don't like it though.
brightened up the color a bit in Photoshop
using a fresco filter to alter the image gives it a bit of a negative quality
I forget how I got this version, but I like it

For more about the movie When Harry Met Sally dash over to Mille Fiori Favoriti. Pat posted a great entry about Katz's Delicatessen, the location where Meg Ryan's most famous scene in the movie was shot.
I love your drawing style. This picture has an aura of innocence over it and a dreamy feel as well.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love Photoshop? I play around with my photos and pictures in it all the time.;)) Have you ever used the "Filter" "Render" "Lighting effects"? That is a wonderful feature.;)))
No I haven't used it much. I would love to see how you've used it. I mostly use the ones under Artistic and Sketch. Please post some of your work.
ReplyDeleteThe third one looks rather ghostly.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I have a migraine, I take Advil liquigels, because it goes straight to the pain (I sound like an ad, don't I?), but for added relief, I rub Tiger Balm on my temples, forehead and under my nose. It really helps! (Just make sure you wash your hands really well before you use the loo!)

Oh, really very good.

I am sort of a Harry met Sally nut! I bought the DVD which had the English and French version but had to have it in German too...The dubbing of those famous scenes cracks me up every time!
ReplyDeleteI hope that nasty headache of yours is gone you talented lady you!
Awwwww...I sure hope you are feeling TONNES better today!
ReplyDelete**hugs** :)
Sorry about your headache. I get the ones that last 2 days...I just hate those!
ReplyDelete...but I would be proud to partake of your pecan pieeeeeee! ;^)
ReplyDeleteHope you're head feels better today!
Thanks everyone. The headache finally went away last night right before bed.
ReplyDeleteIt was probably a tension headache. We found out that today was the day that our 2 local branches would be merged. Luckily everything went off without anyone losing their job. So we are safe from unemployment for a little while longer. I'm not crazy about my new duties, but hey it's a job and I'm thankful.
I'm so glad your headache is gone! I wondered if it might have to do with the job stress, from comments you had made. My 12 year old niece is suffering from constant headaches. They've ruled out a tumor, but still don't know what's going on. She goes to a neurologist tomorrow. She's light sensitive too, and they've found unexplained "blind spots" in her right eye. I HATE headaches, and am a blubbering baby when I get them.
ReplyDeletei had that headache thing on monday and had to come home from work mid-afternoon, take sinus meds and sleep it off. i think i finally got over it late today. hope yours doesn't last that long!!
ReplyDeletethis sketch is wonderful and all youendiffernet photoshop filters are great!!
I like the first photo best. It looks so fresh and innocent like the child pictured.
ReplyDeleteIts amazing how each effect makes the picture look so different. I love the ethereal effect of the last one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out Stevie :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the variations you did on this sketch. I love the last one too --it looks like a watercolor.
I was so sorry to hear about that terrible event in Alabama. My heart goes out of all those victims! It must have been so frightening for you.
The truth is, the only thing that'll cure a caffeine headache is caffeine.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you're not moaning like a different scene in When Harry Met Sally. I would be forced to say, "I'll have what she's having."
:)
I like "When Harry Met Sally" too. Good movie.
ReplyDeleteHands are very hard to draw. Hubby loves to sketch and he has trouble drawing them too.
Say if the headache doesn't ease up and it's not lack of caffeine or something innocent, go to the doctor please? I worry ... let us know how you're feeling and you have our prayers. :o) ♥ ∞
~Glad you are feeling better~

I've watched that movie many times! A funny favorite. I love your sketch and the different views of it! Sorry your head hurts! I hope you feel better very soon - after all, the weekend is just a day away!
ReplyDeleteI like the last one, too. I take Ex migraine when I have a bad headache. I hate to think what my life would be like without it!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear you still have your job!

I hate headaches! Hope you're feeling better by now. Nice sketches.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your headache. As someone who's had migraines for years, I always understand the pain of a headache. Feel Better!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope your headache is better Stevie. Whenever I have a really bad headache I do neck stretching exercises. They work 99% of the time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence! I was just saying this evening that it's about time I saw When Harry met Sally. I've never seen it but keep meaning to.
I love the top sketch!
