"Just after midnight, a snowstorm stops the Orient Express dead in its tracks in the middle of Yugoslavia. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for this time of year. But by morning there is one passenger less. A 'respectable American gentleman' lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside...Hercule Poirot is also aboard, having arrived in the nick of time to claim a second-class compartment--and the most astounding case of his illustrious career."
Adventure is underway today! Don't play it safe! Go for broke! Take a chance! Sail close to the wind! Risk it all! Rush over to Muse Swing's for the Great Orient Express Train Escapade!
What a great idea for a trip.;)
ReplyDeleteHercule Poirot seems to have a very similar style in "doodling" as you have.;))
To take the Orient Express has always been my dream; this might be as close as I will ever get.;)))
Murder in the Orient Express?

Hercule's doodles of our more mysterious passengers are soooo artistic.. divine, actually. It appears he has copied your style. I would play my cards close to my chest and take heed of ill winds and watch my back if I were you. He may be planting evidence....Have you seen my jewel case????
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy all the people you draw. Such marvelous characters. I will have to get over to MS to see what is happening with the OE.
ReplyDeleteHi Stevie! [waving] Glad you could make it. You wouldn't happen to speak French would ya? This supper menu is confusing! ♥ ∞
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! Fabulous sketch, Stevie!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the mysterious dead man is the mysterious "J" who didn't show up for dinner with me. Maybe my dream was NOT a dream.
ReplyDelete{all in jest} Oh..great! I bet I will be blamed for this one, too! I am telling you, I am innocent!
ReplyDeleteYou are an undiscovered talent waiting to be launched on the world, Dahling!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! (And I love the quote - perfect.)
Kat
Yes, I've heard, Stevie! And it's all too shocking! I've come on board to enjoy the breathtaking views, luscious cuisine and strike up interesting conversation with my illustrious compatriots.
ReplyDeleteI've been talking to Ian Fleming who believes Monsieur Poirot is investigating all the passengers!
In the meantime, I'm in the dining car. Mr. Fleming will be back to reassure us! ;)
Stevie, a little birdie told me Muse's passport was a forgery! Perhaps it was Marie in Paris?
ReplyDeleteYour painting is GO-RG-EO-US! Really beautiful! It would look lovely in my private car, won't you join me for afternoon tea later? By the way, have you seen my sister Melody, I left her a note to meet us at the train?
Everyone seems to think they know why Mssr.Poirot is on board. It's because of me, Anastasia, to guarantee my safe passage...shhh!!
ReplyDeleteIn my book, respectable gentlemen do not get themselves stabbed to death with a dozen stab wounds. Methinks this gentleman is not nearly as respectable as we would believe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious journal page...perfect for this adventure! Dang! I missed the train totally!
ReplyDeleteDahlinks, Monsieur Poirot is certainly suspicious of the goings on board today! All I have to say is we better be careful.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm taking special care not to reveal the place I hid the diamond tiara I plan to wear when we disembark in Istanbul. You never know what kind of 'characters' might be traveling on this train....The Maharajah of Nawab will expect to see me in my showiest finery when he meets me at the train station! Although wearing a tiara is a terrible nuisance when traveling across country atop an elephant...but that can't be helped I suppose.....
Bulletin: The Maharajah of Nawab just won his latest polo match...
ReplyDeleteIf Muse Swings has lost her jewel case, might the jewels that showed up in my cabin be hers????? We must have a thief on board.
ReplyDeleteI walked inside the stairwell of a parking garage today and it smelled just like the train station in Manchester, England. All of a sudden I wanted to be there so badly it hurt.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I shall pull down my copy of this classic and re-read it on the porch as the sun dips.
The private eye that Musey hired would like the name rank and serial number of all the peeps in your illustration. Send them by way of me. THanks. No excuses!
ReplyDeleteStevie, my bed is beckoning, but before I go to sleep, I wanted to say thank you for making today all that the Orient Express promised to be! Although I've just checked in with Muse to ask if the murder's been solved. It's quite disconcerting that the murderer is still on the loose. In my opinion, Mssr. Poirot should be fired (although a bit rash; he may just solve the case in no time), keep James Bond as a souvenier (how do we split him?) and I keep Ian!
ReplyDeleteGood night, Stevie. Don't forget to keep the lights on!
Petra Michelle, I will be unable to sleep with the lights off for some time after today. Muse knows too many sticky fingered people for my taste. She really must clean her act up! And you are right Monsieur Poirot needs to get busy solving the crime...hum...the crimes that were perpetrated today.
ReplyDeleteGood night to you too...sleep well...if you can....
Miss Lavinia Ladyslipper....just who made you the boss of me?
ReplyDeleteA toast of champagne to you dahling! (glasses tink) It's been a magical day and it wouldn't have been complete if you hadn't come, I'm glad you joined us! Your beautiful drawing/painting keeps me coming back! I LURVE IT! I WANT IT!! Perhaps you could do a adventure give-a-way? Can my name go in 2 x since I thought of it? ha ha ha Just joking.
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun today, didn't you? I look forward to our next bloggy adventure hanging out with you my friend! Have a great day!
