It was Time for a Change

Isn't it funny how much better you feel when the sun is shining? It makes me want to sing!

Sunny Day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street

Come and play
Everything's A-OK
Friendly neighbors there
That's where we meet

Can you tell me how to get
How to get to Sesame Street

It's a magic carpet ride
Every door will open wide
To Happy people like you--
Happy people like
What a beautiful

Sunny Day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame street...

How to get to Sesame Street

  1. Oh, how funny. As soon as I read the first line, I was singing it in my mind.

When I lived outside of Washington DC, I lived upstairs from a elementary school teacher who had been one of the key educational advisors when Sesame Street was just in it's infancy. Elsie was very proud of the part that she had played in it. That was over 20 years ago. Shocked, I looked it up. Sesame Street first aired in 1969. Where does the time go? My gosh!

PS The artwork in your previous post is incredibly life-like. Very clever indeed.

  5. Oh, how I NEED the sun...

And, you should youtube the old Sesame Street episodes....I love the OLD ones - they're the best. Nowadays, they're oh so corny and cartoony!

  8. Oh, has it been a long time since I've heard this song! I loved Sesame Street just as much as my kids did. I always appreciated the adult humor thrown in for us grown ups.

  9. We have cold temps today but the sun is shining brilliantly...does a body and SOUL good!!

I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER tire of the Sesame Street song! (UNLIKE some of the newer, rather obnoxious children's programs/songs!)

  10. We definitely need something to cheer us up when Winter is still dark, cold and gloomy, so what could be better than humming that delightful tune from Sesame Street. And It will also help me to let go of "From A Distance" (Bette Midler) which has been constantly in my head for the past few days.

  11. I was thinking, I know this song. I love both gray and sunny days. It is hard for me to explain. In the winter I love "a gray looks like it could snow day". Oh and did I mention that gray days hide the dust, sunny days not so much. Summertime I want nothing but blue sky!

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
