Rockwell

I like the way Norman saw the world.

His work was fun.

He sometimes poked gentle humor at our roots.

He never forgot the wonder of youth.

He celebrated love.

And family traditions.

And reminded us not to take ourselves too seriously.

He might have staged it all, but I like his vision.

  9. I love Rockwell as well! Of course you know I have always favored realism over impressionism. I also appreciate the way he takes his viewers back to a simpler time in life.

  14. Happy Thanksgiving Stevie.
We don't celebrate it here and it's such a pity. It seems you have such a great time and of course the whole meaning behind it is so wonderful.
And I just love the humor in the cards.

  17. He's always been one of my favorite artists/illustrators. I was thrilled to see his entire Saturday Evening post cover painting collection at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington DC one year. There was so much wonderful detail, and his colors were so vibrant.
