AAAAAARRRRRRR

Yes, you heard me screaming! The cable company switched all the channels around and I can't find a thing anymore. For the past few days, I've spent all of my TV watching time looking at the TV Guide channel trying to discover where my favorites have gone. Don't the powers that be ever think about the inconvenience that they are causing when they do these things?

We've had our 1st real taste of fall here this weekend. It has been positively chilly, especially in my house. So to keep warm I hopped into the bed last night early. I piled the covers on me and pulled out my sketch pad to draw while flipping through the channels once again. Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn was on one...I think I found TCM. Yesterday's drawing is a quick sketch of Audrey.

(don't expect much, it's just a quick impression)

I hope I find HGTV soon!

  1. How frustrating! Has your grocery store ever done that? About every 3 years I'll be running late, pop into the grocery for 1 or 2 emergency items and the whole grocery is rearranged! I have to run down every isle...very irritating! tee-hee! Hope you find HGTV soon!

  2. I hate it when my tv watching is disturbed. It disturbs my sense of order in the world. Or when they change the late night syndicated sitcoms, so it's all stupid sitcoms instead of my routine of soothing sitcoms.

How am I supposed to paint if I don't have good bad tv in the background?

  3. Betsy, I completely agree. I don't make lists. I shop by the aisle....beans...do I need beans..no, but I do need tomatoes... Yep, if they move things around there you will hear my screams in Ohio.

  4. I was thinking about how the grocery store does a switcheroo while reading your post - seems it got to Betsy as well. How aggravating to have to walk through the entire store for that one precious box of green jello. Sorry about your TV - we've gone through that program displacement several times. Be sure and figure out where Burn Notice will be before the next season starts. As long as you have that down pat everything else in life will fall into place.
Rowena's excellent and spot on remark about good bad TV is worth putting in the back of the dictionary with all of the great quotes of the world

I may adopt that as my life's motto, but I will have to change the word "paint" to "nothing"

  5. Rowena and Muse, once upon a time in a land far far away in another millennium in an enchanted land in the time before time when I didn't work outside the home, but did have a thriving craft business, I too watched good bad TV while I painted....those were the good old days.

I knew all the current celebrity gossip back then, the interesting movies coming out and even kept up with my soaps. Now I'm just a dullard. I know who the presidential candidates are, but nothing about nothing else.

  6. Ahhh... we are switching over to Verizon Fios soon for cable/phone/computer -- I hope I don't have to re-learn how ro operate everything all over again!

  7. I'm sorry... why can't things just be simple and stay put? Is that too much to ask? Apparently.

I LOVED your stuff about all the nonsense trying to make art into a deep philosophical discussion all the time. I'm not the artist, i guess i'm the "art-ee" but I know what I like and what I don't and I hate when someone tries to shame me in to liking something by telling me a bunch of gobbledygook about it! (I guess it's the same in Business classes sometimes - I always kept my "Dilbert" close by to get a balanced perspective!)

  9. Audrey is gorgeous! ;-) And just think -- if they hadn't moved the channels around you probably wouldn't have watched Funny Face again, and that would have been a shame... right?

  10. Cable companies are frustrating...they keep changing packages, increase prices, and change programming. I've got Direct TV now. It seems to be less problems. We'll see.

  11. Wow, why hasn't the cable company issued some sort of channel guide. Is there a chance it's online? Or is trial and error your only option to find your regular programmes?

You've captured Audrey's unique almond eyes. THis is quite a fashionable portrait.

  12. Great likeness of Ms. Hepburn.. and yes, I feel your pain re TV station juggling. It's worse than when a favourite show changes nights and comes on when you never think to watch TV.

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
