Is It Ok to Have A Skywatch Tuesday?

There was a not quite fully formed rainbow in the sky this evening. I kept trying to take pictures of it while I drove home. I never did get a good shot, but the sky was so pretty I had to post a couple of pictures of the sunset.

I'm posting 2 drawings for Artober today too.

The next picture is of one of my granddaughters. I call her a pixie because her personality has an undefinable quality to it. She flitters and floats and fidgets and dances through life.

I looked at a photo to draw this picture but I'm disappointed because I wasn't able to capture the slightly defiant expression she had on her face. You can tell by looking at the photo that she didn't want to have the picture made that day. Which made it a perfectly perfect likeness of her.

  1. Very good, my friend. See your drawings of your ladies always have such different expressions. I think that shows true talent. Sounds like your little granddaughter is a bit fiesty. I can't wait to get my envelope. Yoo hoo!

  2. In the past 24 hours I have taken at least a dozen, probably more, photos of the sky. This morning at 6:30 I was out in the driveway snapping shots of the glowing, red clouds. Beautiful.

I love your drawing of MK -- it has a very Victorian look to it, but then again, MK's features resemble a Victorian valentine. I've always called her a little pixie too.

  6. Skywatch Tuesday? Why not? Great sky pics.

And great faces - you have a way with eyes. I love the drawing of your granddaughter - she may not look defiant, but you've definitely captured a bit of attitude there!

  9. Hi Stevie!

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog while we were away celebrating our anniversary! I appreciate them, and your friendship, so much! It was a fun and relaxing trip...and I've been moving slow since I got back trying to get back into the everyday groove again.

These drawings are great! I do see the little glint of defiance in your grand daughter's eyes, and the lady looks familiar for some reason.

Autumn skies are always so beautiful --love your photos!
