A Disvowal, A Poster and Artober Offerings.

A Disavowal: Before I go any further, just let me say....even though I confessed to the Padparadscha Sapphire heist I still maintain my innocence. It has become obvious to me that I was framed by Barry Manilow and his evil night club cohorts Lola and Rico. You can read more about these devilish events at The Birdbath Chronicles and MuseSwings.

A Poster: ModGirl, this photo is of my much loved (only real piece of art...not done by me, that I own) Amos Paul Kennedy Jr poster. I bought it a few years ago at a folk art festival in a nearby city.

Artober Offering:
1st offering-birdie doodles. I'm trying to develop a style here. Not there yet.

2nd Edgar Allan Poe. I'm thinking macabre. I'm thinking halloween.

3rd Tricked out Edgar Allan Poe a la Photoshop.

I "borrowed" the background from these cute paper plates that are in stores now. (I would give credit to the designer but I can't remember where I found them to look it up)

  1. Hi. Birdbath here. Have I landed at the glamorous Lady Burglar's blog? Looks like. I see that I am surrounded by art, bling, and beautiful yet slightly sinister people. Yep, this must be the place!

  2. Sinister people are attracted to me like flies to honey it seems. What can I say....some people call me Ms Sticky Fingers.

  3. Yep, this is the place alright. Being in the hoosegow for a couple a hours will do things to your psycho - I mean psyche. Love the fingerprint earings, and yes, I am just about positive that your lightfingeredness was purely innocent. I present you, Stickywren, with the frogman. His name is Joe Croaker.

  4. He croaked you say! I didn't do it! Not guilty!

  5. I believe the artist of those paper plates, who deserves credit, is a gentleman by the name of Mr. Hal O'ween.

  6. as far as i'm concerned, this edgar allan poe character looks suspicious enough to be involved with you in this mystery.or maybe that hal guy.... it's very east to confess to something, with those sweet innocent faces you keep drawing!.give it up, your days are numbered.

  7. I knew that you would be a fan of Amos Kennedy! It didn't surprise me at all that you have some of his work. Beautiful, isn't it?

I love my postcard! Thank you, thank you.

  8. Mod Girl, I was wondering if you had received any other cards. Lora lives in AL too and she's gotten 4 cards so far.

  9. Well, I'm certainly intrigued - after I comment, I'll be clicking links like crazy.

Love the birdies, but EAP is fabulous! The background on the photoshopped on is marvelous!

  10. No postcards have arrived yet. I plan to 'rough up' my postman if he doesn't start producing some worthy mail soon!

  11. I've been really interested to see my style and ideas evolve in my Flying Girl project. It's the first time I've ever tried to do a painting a day.

I will be interested to see how we all evolve over the course of Artober and The Big Draw.

I maintain that it is the COMMITMENT to art that makes one an artist, not ones level of training or even talent.

  13. Hi Stevie

Two times I tried to leave a comment last night and my computer or blogspot would not cooperate...once I froze and had to reboot, the second I kept getting a blank page after I submitted the comment...grrr...it's so frustrating when that happens!

I love your Poe drawing! He's always been one of my favorites even though he's dark and gloomy.

I got two postcards so far! Fun!!

  16. Well, at least you can't be guilty of stealing a sapphire, since it was actually a ruby! I'll be your attorney and get you off on a technicality. Besides, the "other side" thinks Barry Manilow is a has-been! We can take them, easy.

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
