Interior Color

I saved these pictures in February when the world was still frozen and gray. I believe I needed a shot of Spring. How about you? Would you be attracted or repelled by so much saturated color in your home? (except for the bookcase wall...not much color there, I just love books)

I think I would feel invigorated in a colorful home like this one. I would certainly be reminded of Spring all year long.

ps Happy 34th Birthday to this cutie of mine!

  1. I think they have a little too much color and patterns for my taste. I wouldn't find them restful.

I'd also like that bookcase and all those books!

  2. I quite like most of the colours but could do without some of those patterns. I have an odd appreciation for lime green with turquoise blue.

  3. I actually like color but I have my own tastes. I enjoy House Beautiful magazine and always dream when going through their issues. I would love to have the money to have my own home and to decorate it in my own fashion.

  4. I definitely think some of these are very appealing (in fact similar to my style;)
I LOVE colours, but not on walls. I prefer my walls white, but filled with pictures and paintings. I dislike wall paper, makes me feel like the walls are never clean.;)
With that said though, my house is a plethora of colours and patterns (you know my red sofa already).
Each room has a theme and my house is cluttered with stuff.
I visited my very young neighbours (a young couple) last year and I just could not believe they live in an identical house to mine. Their decoration was all in steel, white and black. I did not see one single piece of something personal there, not even a picture. The walls were white and totally devoid of objects. It was cold and inviting. I realized then that I much rather have colours and patterns than this sterile environment.;)

  6. I love the color! Not sure I would put that many patterns together but love the organic garden look of it all.

  7. I love color but I don't know if I could live with that much pattern in a room. We have books everywhere in our house. I am learning to let go of them. Slowly.

  8. I love these colourful rooms but you have to be so careful with lots of pattern. It really is an art form putting these schemes together. I'm a little reticent of using so much colour in my own home - but love the comfy and personal touches - that's what makes a home for me.

  9. Wow! That's a lot going on there! I could see doing a scaled down version of these in a sunroom or a lake cottage, but wouldn't want to do it in my primary rooms. I might use some of the elements, though.

I think I'd better worry about getting rid of the winter grime first! ;)

  10. I like the arrangement of (and lots of) the pictures hanging on the walls. I'd like to do something similar in my home but with photographs that I have taken! The colors are pretty; however, a little goes a long way!

  18. Loved the colourful rooms Steviewren. My sort of house! Jill says she isn't keen on bright colours but if you saw our rooms you might be surprised! She chose the colours! I may show them one day... - Dave
