De Dum Dum.....

What did one tooth say to the other? Get your cap on, the dentist is taking us out tonight.

Why do you forget a tooth, as soon as the dentist pulls it out? Because it goes right out of your head.

Why are vampires like false teeth? They all come out at night.

Did anyone else have grandparents who put their teeth in a jar at night? Or slip them out to amaze you? I'm getting an implant on Wednesday, so that I am never tempted to do the same to my grandchildren. haha (oops, too late....I just remembered that I showed them when my temporary fell out last winter....just realized I've already become my grandparents!)

  1. Oh yes, I used to beg my Dad to push out his teeth. Too funny to a little person.

  3. Char, I had a crown that cracked up in the gum and fell out last year. I've been going through the process since last Sept. It takes ever so much longer than I realized because there are a lot of steps. Finally, I am getting the finishing touches this month. I've hated the temporary you have in the intermediate time because I've made it fall out so many times....believe me, I do not look good without that tooth!

  6. I have a denture with six teeth on it. When my nephews were little they always got a kick out of me showing them my false teeth.

  8. I'll need details on how that turns out, I'm in the midst of such a "root canal" thingy, and I'm thinking I want an implant instead. Why fuss. I didn't have grandparents that lived long enough to have false teeth, but I remember, as a child, when my cousin and her "elderly new husband" came to visit and he put his teeth in a glass overnight, my mother threw the glass in the garbage. I'm so glad she doesn't realize she has false teeth now. I guess that's the up side to dementia.

  9. I remember my aunt and uncle had their dentures on their respective sides of the bed at night. I always thought it was so wierd. That kept me really good at brushng all my life!

  11. My neighbor in Spain is 81 and looking for a wife, but his false teeth are always letting him down at crucial moments - when he laughs or sneezes they fall out.

Good luck with the implants Stevie.

  13. My grandmother used to put her teeth in a jar, at night on the bathroom counter. What a sight it was to see those teeth in the jar and even more of a sight when I saw her with no teeth! :)

  14. I went through getting an implant a couple of years ago....a year long process when all is said and done...but worth it in my opinion:)

On the other hand...after working with dementia patients for many years I have to say it is easier to brush someone else's teeth when they are not in their mouths:)

    Good luck!
