Say What?

L'Oreal's newest mascara, Voluminous Million Lashes, smells like my dead grandmother's dusting powder. Yeah, for real.

It took me a couple of days to figure out where the smell was coming from.  I began to suspect the mascara yesterday and confirmed it today when I applied my makeup.

I don't know what I think about wearing smelly mascara, even though the odor does go away after a little while. One thing I know for sure...if they are going to put a scent in make up, it for sure shouldn't remind you of something so old.  Sorry Grandmother.

Just sayin.....

  1. Really? Mascara with a scent? And you can smell it even though it's above your nose? That must be a really strong smell.

I once had a blush that smelled like old talc. Couldn't stand it.

Why not contact L'Oreal and see what they have to say about it. They might want to know about it. I did that with the blush, and ended up with a generous coupon instead.

  2. I can't stand all the scents we get bombarded with every day...the only make up I wear...which is pretty darn rare these days...is unscented. Even the Dove soap and deodorant I use is unscented...

  3. This made me laugh!;) I admit that actually mascaras do have a strange scent, but luckily that never reminded me of anything.;))
I am very sensitive to scents and fragrances and they are very important to me, so I understand your frustration.;))

  6. Mascara can be irritating on the eyes and in my opinion putting a fragrance to it can only worsen the application of it if a person has sensitive eyes. I won't be purchasing their smelly stuff anytime soon.
