  5. I'm in australia so that's most likely why i haven't seen the commercial before, but i was around when it was showing in your corner of the world.
I too had one of the dolls featured.... very similar that my grandmother had got from Italy.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

    best wishes

  12. I've actually never seen a Chatty Cathy doll before, although, of course I've heard of her :-)

I remember "Baby Alive" (doesn't that sound suitably spooky for Halloween, by the way) commercials. Baby Alive could eat, and eliminate (yup, horrifying) and came with her own special food. Eventually she came with her own special bugs because of the yucky food.

I never had one but for those of you that had a Chatty Cathy, at least she didn't end up doing anything gruesome like becoming infested. Just one way that sixties beat the pants off the seventies, I guess :-)

  13. I had a talking Chatty Baby instead of Chatty Cathy. I always felt like my parents gypped me. Actually they're kind of spooky dolls.

  14. I didn't have a Chatty Cathy doll but I bought her second generation doll for my daughter in the early 1980's :)

No one says "that's swell" anymore, do they? :)

I remember really , really, wanting a Thumbelina doll when I was little. Never got her either!

I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to your comments. As Dr. Fraser Crane would say, "Hello, I'm listening."
